A wise man once said that we’re the average of the five people that we spend the most time with. I agree, so I’ve made a conscious effort to spend more time with people that are far smarter than me. By doing so, I place myself in a position to learn something new.
Learning doesn’t stop when you resell your last college textbook. Take time to seek out mentors for all areas of your life. You’d be surprised who’d be happy to share some wisdom with you for the price of a burger or coffee. These generous people willing to pay it forward are true assets to anyone. Leaders that seek out the advice of others and then implement it are received better by their teams, setting both the team and the leader up for success.
Who should you spend more time with in order to lead more effectively?
